Gynecomastia surgery for masculine breasts
Gynecomastia is a disorder in which there is an increase in the size of male breasts like women. Gynecomastia generally results from the breast fat accumulation due to the influence of hormones (the imbalance between estrogen and androgen) and the overdeveloped mammary glands. Sometimes, it just occurs due to obesity, irrelevant to hormones.
Gynecomastia should be corrected because it stresses out the patient and may affect his interpersonal relationships and social life. Before treatment, the endocrine system should be diagnosed first to find the causes.
If the adult patient with gynecomastia doesn’t have any problem in his endocrine system, he needs surgical treatment. Surgical procedures depend on the degree of development of mammary glands.
Gynecomastia surgery is decided according to types of the chest. Surgery is performed with minimum incision 4mm on the edge of aureoles or armpit creases.
