The length of a nose can be shortened by lifting the nose tip. Among the various alar cartilage correction procedures, it is considered as one of the most difficult procedures that should be performed by well-experienced and skilled specialists.

  • Those whose long nose disturbs the balance of their face.

The Golden Ratio of the nose to the face

The ideal length of the nose is one-third of the length of the face and the ideal nasolabial angle is between 95° and 105°.

If the nasolabial angle exceeds 110°, the nose tip is overly upturned, the nostrils are exposed from a frontal view, and the nose will also look short.

JW’s Droopy Nose / Long Nose Correction

Step 1

After cutting a small amount from the upper side of the alar cartilages and tying it up, we lift and reposition the alar cartilage to shorten the length of the nose.

Step 2

In some cases, the alar cartilages will need to be supported with septal nasal cartilage transplant.

Step 3

In some cases, the muscles pulling down the nose tip need to be cut. After this procedure, your nose tip will not sag, even when you smile or pronounce “o” or “u”.

Step 4

If septal nasal cartilages are longer than ideal, the end of the cartilages will be modified.

Step 5

After reducing the length of the cartilages, if there is drooping skin, the excess skin will be removed, to prevent lengthening over time.
